Hypnosis Defined

Hypnosis: When placed in an Altered State of Consciousness, allowing for increased suggestibility.

Suggestibility: A communication made by one to another that evokes an automatic action in the second person.

Posthypnotic Suggestion: A suggestion given in Hypnosis which is to become effective in the future after the Hypnosis has been removed.

“The art of hypnotic induction is not difficult to acquire and it does not take long to learn. Approximately 90 per cent of the population can be induced into a light hypnotic state, and some 50 to 60 per cent can attain medium depth with little difficulty.

The history of hypnosis has proven conclusively to be a valuable therapeutic tool.” John Hartland, MD
